The Cyber Intelligence research unit develops innovative Web and Social Network data collection systems and studies new machine learning models (machine/deep learning) useful for combating crime and improving the security of society.
The research activities carried out by the unit embrace various application contexts related to social media, including the identification of botnets, fake news and deep fake text and the analysis of content for hate speech detection. Analyzing features, contents and activities of social accounts (single or coordinated) allows the study of polarization and pollution of public debates as well as the identification of potentially dangerous subjects.
